The Fifty Nifty

Logline:  Fifty words + fifty states + one hundred days = one big positive mission.

PROJECT SUMMARY

We’re Rock & Cookie Pictures, LLC, a photography/production company with offices in North Carolina and California.  Our current project, The Fifty Nifty, is our idea to combine our experience and skills to make a large-scale impact.  We invite you to join us.

It’s no secret that our country is in a weakened state.  Our unemployment rates are through the roof, we owe insane amounts of debt and homes across the nation are being abandoned and left to rot.  Our stock market yo-yo’s, grandmothers are being maced, and our political leaders can’t seem to get along  We all know this is occurring in the place we call home.  Yet we’re still force-fed the grim reality every time we turn on the television or pick up a newspaper.  The media has made it their “convenient” responsibility to remind us of all the negativity that exists in this country – and we’re eating it up. (Studies show media stocks reign among the strongest)

With The Fifty Nifty, we’ll challenge that.  We’ll begin a 100-day journey to visit all fifty states with the goal of finding fifty words - each exemplifying something positive about this country (IE:  Ambition, Opportunity, Patriotism).  Our goal is to create a 90-minute documentary and to publish a hand-written, photographic journal.  In a country that is so currently consumed by negativity, we hope to shine a positive light.  We want to create a movement towards a better way; towards a better America.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT

As part of Generation Y, we’re watching our friends start families, watching our families start families, and now thinking of having families ourselves.  We want our children (and their children) to grow up in a nation full of all the positive things America is known for.

Numerous studies show the many benefits of positivity – including health, happiness and longevity of life.  Considering we’re not the healthiest country, nor the happiest, it makes sense that highlighting the positivity in our nation could only benefit us as a whole – bringing our nation’s awareness back to the good that exists – collectively.

“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”- Confucious

By finding and exposing fifty positive things about America, we’re hoping to create a movement, encouraging others to seek out positivity as well.  For us this is only the beginning.
